STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS RIVERTON HS MON., 10/20/08

ACTIVITIES:
Today – Football @ Rock Springs, 9th, 4pm
Thursday – Girls Swim @ home, Last Chance, JV/V, 4pm


SKILLS USA meets Tuesday at 7pm in Mr. Gopp’s room at the Career Center. Gopp

CWC UPWARD BOUND students meet Wednesday during lunch in room 4 at the Career Center. Nirider

SPEECH AND DEBATE members meet Wednesday during lunch in Mrs. Wolfer’s room. Wolfer

HEALTH SCREENINGS - on Tuesday starting at 7 AM in the Home Economics Room. If you would like to participate, please stop by the nurse's office and sign up for a time and get your permission slip. If you are under 18 you must have parental permission to participate. Also, you will need to bring cash, or a check made out to School District # 25. A 12 hour fast is required so be sure you do not eat before you come, unless you are a diabetic. There will be a light breakfast provided for participants following the blood draw. CAREER PORTFOLIOS - Students working independently on career portfolios, you have only 10 weeks to complete them. Mrs. Santee is available for help during 4th and 5th periods and will have a work session Tuesday after school. Schedule your interview with Mrs. Santee for Wednesday, October 29. Santee

JUNIORS & SENIORS: ETS is sponsoring an ACT Workshop today from homeroom thru lunch. Lunch will be served. Sign up at Guidance. If you have questions, call Mr. Bell at 840-1721. Bell

JUNIORS & SENIORS interested in taking the ASVAB test may sign up in Guidance. The test will be given Tuesday in the Career Center computer lab #7 at 9:50am. Lunch will be served. Guidance

SENIORS: Just a reminder to get your senior pictures in. Let your photographer know what pose you want and they may email it to Ms. Kirkland for the yearbook. Kirkland

SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors, Jan. 6 is the deadline for priority consideration for scholarships at Creighton University in Nebraska. Check out our website at www.rhswolverines.com. Are you a senior? Do you own your own business? If your answers are yes, you might qualify for a $10,000/year entrepreneurial scholarship for 4 years. Deadline is January 25 for the McKelvey Foundation Scholarship. Seniors: Anyone interested in a full ride scholarship plus additional benefits to Michigan State University, please visit with your counselor for further information and an application.
