RHS Student Announcements

RIVERTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS THUR., 5/8/08

ACTIVITIES:
Today – Girls Soccer, Regionals @ Cheyenne, 5pm
Today – Boys Soccer, Regionals @ Gillette, 5:30pm
Friday – Track, Regionals @ Cheyenne, 9am

STUDENTS that did not attend the Academic/Awards Night program need to come to the Career Center and pick up their awards ASAP. Weber

VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS: there will be a meeting today in Mrs. Hammer's room to go over summer activities. Lunch will be served. Weber

TRACK ATHLETES that are no longer competing need to turn in uniforms ASAP. They can be turned into any coach or after school at practice. Gopp

SENIORS: make sure you get your senior graduation lists in by Friday. If no list is turned in you will get the allotted 18 tickets. Don’t put it off. Weber

KEY CLUB – today, 7pm in the Career Center. Lots to plan and sign up for, so please be there. Hughes

ANY JUNIOR CAN member interested in running for the CAN board pick up forms from Ms. Reddon, they are due this Friday. Reddon

THE CAST of Into the Woods will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Mrs. Thornton's classroom to rehearse for the upcoming performance at Ashgrove. Please meet with Mrs. Thornton if you cannot make it. Thornton

ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS meet with the new head coach Monday during lunch in the choir room. Lunch will be provided. Bauder

GIRLS SWIM: There will be a meeting Tuesday at lunch for all Girls Swim Team members and those who are interested in swimming next year. We will be talking about Goals, summer swimming, team gear and lunch will be provided. Meet in Mr. Fallin's room. Don't miss it! Fallin

SCHOLARSHIP: Male students interested in attending UW are encouraged to apply for the Alpha Iota Book Scholarship. $500 a semester and may be renewed. Applications are available in the guidance office, deadline is June 15th. Guidance

FACTS OF THE DAY: The word “pothole” came from the Irish. They used to boil their potatoes in a pot, when they were finished cooking, the pot was lifted off the fire and set on the ground to cool. In the process of mashing the potatoes, the pot would be pushed into the ground and in time a deep hole would develop – a pothole! Hughes

FACTS OF THE DAY: Ice cream is really Chinese food. Marco Polo, a famous explorer brought a recipe to Italy for a dessert called Milk Ice he found in China. The Europeans substituted cream for the milk, and ice cream was officially born. Hughes

If you sign up by May 16 you will be included in the early bird drawing for three $50 cash prizes. Registration deadline is May 23. Office
