SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors, this is your opportunity to apply for a $10,000 scholarship from AXA Equitable. Each state will receive one scholarship. Deadline is December 15, go to www.axa-achievement.com. Native American seniors interested in pursuing a higher education in Natural Resources need to apply for a $1,500 scholarship. Deadline is January 30. A fantastic scholarship is available through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. Full tuition & benefits worth up to $180,000. Deadline is January 31. Any senior interested in the Army ROTC's full-tuition scholarship should stop by the guidance office for more information. Guidance

STUDENTS: The basketball hoop and ping pong table are going over very well. We are looking at purchasing additional of both. However, the group using the current hoop is not picking up their trash. A garbage can has been placed there for you to use. Please use it. If you do not, the rim may have to come down and no second one will be added. Just be responsible and there is no issue. If you want your mug shot to be in the yearbook you MUST get a picture taken by Lehman. You DO NOT have to purchase any pictures to have your photo taken. STUDENTS: We hope that some of you are enjoying the basketball hoop in the back of the school. Now we have a ping pong table located in the Career Center just outside the CAN room. Any student may use it. You will need to check out balls and a paddle from Mrs. Eckley in the CAN room. You must leave your student ID and purchase a ball for $.50. If everything is returned in order, you can get you ID and your $.50 back - no exceptions. If you want to keep the ball or you destroy it, we keep the $.50. If you destroy the paddles you will be fined $8 per paddle. If the ping pong table goes over well, and doesn’t get abused, we may purchase another one. Health Committee

COME JOIN in an exciting night of food, fun, games, and information about FCCLA. FCCLA's up membership party, "Fun in the Sun" is Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the RHS commons area. Light the torch, travel with FCCLA to Thermopolis, Cheyenne, and maybe even Dallas, Texas this year and meet new friends across Wyoming and the nation. You'll do great things for your community, gain recognition and possibly win a trip to Nashville, Tennessee for National Conference. Rivers

VOTER REGISTRATION: If you are 18 years old or will be 18 years old before November 1, 2008 you can register to vote in the general election in November, right here at Riverton High School. You need to have a photo ID to register. Julie Freese, the Fremont County Clerk, will register 18 year old students in the commons area during homeroom and lunch on Monday. We will have a drawing for prizes for 18 year olds that register that day. Exercise your right to vote for the next President of the United States, Obama or McCain.
