CLOSE UP CLUB is reorganizing for those who would like to participate in the spring, 2014 week long trip to Washington, D.C. If visiting our nation’s capital and go on study visits of the national monuments, meet and discuss issues with students from all over the country, visit with your senators and representative, and explore one of the world’s most interesting cities….you need to attend the Close Up meeting in Mrs. Chouinard’s room today during homeroom. Through fundraising you can greatly reduce the cost of the trip. Five students this spring went on the trip free – they earned all of the costs through fundraising. See you at the meeting for a chance to participate in a trip of a lifetime. Chouinard

SPRING FLING: students will receive tickets at each event they participate in. They will put their tickets in the drawing boxes for the prizes at the end of the day. Students must be present to win. Dress code for tomorrow is school appropriate. Girls may wear swim suits but they have to have a t-shirt over them. Students are only to be in the building to use the rest room or to participate in the movie (Meredith’s room), board games (Iden’s room) or basketball (Gym). They will enter the doors at the end of the math hall for the movie or board games. If you want to have this event each year you need to stay and participate. HEY RHS: we are filming our school music video Wednesday morning. This is going to be an epic event. Please show your school spirit and wear your school colors! Wear your club/group/team shirts; your coaches will have jerseys available for you. If you are in multiple activities you will have the opportunity to represent all of them in the video. You will receive more information from your first hour teachers. It is rumored that Lander is making one of these videos as well, so let’s pull together and put the Tigers to shame once again this year. GO BIG RED!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RHS KEY CLUB. They have just returned from their Rocky Mt. District Convention. At the convention JD Manzanares was retired as the District Governor. Ryan Murdock was selected as the new District Treasurer and Izzy Leyva was installed as the new Division 10 Lt. Governor. In the competitions Riverton received honors for the following: Single Service Award - 1st place in the Bronze Division (determined by club size) for their 26 hour, 365 second Service Marathon, 1st overall in the Major Emphasis Program for their Toy Store project, Most members in attendance at DCON - 13, 1st in raising money for the Eliminate Project at $5227, 1st in Digital Poster, and 2nd in Traditional scrapbook. Clay Carper received the Distinguished Club President award and Nikki Wright received the Distinguished Club Secretary award. Nice job Key Club. Hughes
