ACTIVITIES:

SKILLS USA meets today at 7pm in Mr. Gopp’s room. Gopp

CWC UPWARD BOUND students meet Wednesday during lunch in room 4 at the Career Center. Nirider

SUMMER EXCHANGE: Riverton Rotary Club is researching exchange programs. Students will spend 3 weeks exploring another country and then their “host brother/sister” returns home with them for a 3 week period. Exchanges are typically in June, July and August. Students must be between the ages of 15-19. Applications for this program are due by the end of January. If interested contact Lori Ridgway at 855-2325 or 850-7803. Guidance

HEY RHS! There are several nice new recycling containers throughout the high school and one in the career center. These are for plastic bottles only. Please do your part and put plastic bottles in these great new containers. There are containers in the senior and freshmen locker areas, one by the band/choir hall and another one in the commons. There is also a container in the commons at the career center.

FCA will be hosting an ultimate Frisbee night on Monday, January 26th. Meet in the commons at 7:30pm. Come see Mr. Nyberg if you need any more information. Nyberg

STUDENTS: you should have received your Spirit Order forms on Monday the 19th. Please remember to turn in your Spirit Order form to your homeroom teacher next Monday, January 26th. Flanagan

SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors, there are over 50 scholarship opportunities available, check out our website at www.rhswolverines.com or come on down to the guidance department for more details. Sophomores & Juniors -some of the above scholarship opportunities are open for you to apply also, check out the website. Senior girls, P.E.O. is offering two $600 scholarships. Deadline is April 15; applications are available in the guidance office.
Do you have a passion for cooking? Juniors and seniors may create an original dinner or dessert entree and enter a contest for scholarships ranging from $3,500 to full tuition. Guidance has all the details, deadline is Feb. 23. Are you a senior interested in the water environment profession? Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association has a $1,000 scholarship. Deadline is May 1. Senior Scholar Athletes, Body by Milk has an opportunity for you. The prize is a $7,500 scholarship; to apply you must write an essay. Deadline is March 6. TODAY’S TIDBIT: Try to taste new foods and old ones you have not tried for a while. Some foods, like green veggies, taste better the older you get. Shoot for five servings of fruits and vegetables a day – 2 fruit and 3 vegetables.
