RIVERTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS THUR., 3/6/08

ACTIVITIES:
Today/Friday – Speech, Wind River Qualifier

ACT TEST PREP SCHEDULES: Reading/English meets Friday in the Media Center from 7-8am. Math meets Friday in room 504 from 7-8am. (Bring a calculator). Science meets Monday from 7-8am in room 526. Williams/Gosnell

CAREER INTERNSHIP STUDENTS: Please turn in your February time logs by Monday, March 10. Santee

WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS: Next meeting is Wednesday, March 12. Santee

SKILLS USA MEETING today at 12:10 in Mr. Gopp’s room at the Career Center. Gopp

DECA members remember to have your ad sales information to Mr. Stoehr or Amy Chouinard by lunch today. If you don't sell your spaces you will lose them! Stoehr

KEY CLUB MEMBERS: Paperwork and money for convention are due today at the meeting. Your paperwork must be notarized. If you can not get it notarized, we will have a notary at this week's meeting. Your parent will need to come with you to sign in front of the notary. Remember, you must have your service hours in, if you plan to attend and want to take advantage of the 1/3rd plan. Checks need to be made out to RHS Key Club. Hughes

BLOOD DRIVE - the Spring Blood Drive is coming. It will be on Thursday, March 13 from 2-7 PM in the Career Center. The sign up sheet is located in the nurse's office. If you are 18 all you need is your ID. If you are 17 you will need parent permission. Mr. DeClue will have the permission forms in his office. Please be sure you read through the list of criteria so that you know you are eligible. There will be an incentive for those of you who step up and donate. We need lots of good arms, so don't hesitate to sign up! Hughes

BOYS SWIMMING Awards night @ Lincoln School Gymnasium today at 7 pm. Dayton

ALL HIGH SCHOOL boys basketball players who have lockers in the varsity locker room who are not going out for track, soccer or have weightlifting need to have their lockers cleaned out by Monday, as we will need them for track and soccer. PE Department

JUNIORS: ACT Testing rooms are posted outside guidance. Check before test date next Tuesday, 3/11. Office

STUDENTS: remind your parents to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences tonight from 5:30-8pm at the Career Center. Office

FYI WOLVERINE READERS: All readers need to turn all reading response forms in by April 29th in order to receive Wolverine Dollars, and all readers attending the final party must have earned at least 15 total Wolverine Reader dollars with 5 of those dollars being earned this semester. Morrison

CRUISE FOR YOUR SCHOOL – Fremont Motors and RHS are running a combined fundraiser. All next week you can go to Fremont Motors to test drive a vehicle. Must be 18! 17 and under, you need to encourage your parents to go test drive. There will be no pressure to buy, you will need to fill out a short form before driving. Just tell them you are there to “Cruise for the School”. For every test drive, Fremont Motors will donate $20 to RHS athletics. Our goal is 100 test drives. Then on April 15 from 8am-5pm, Fremont Motors will bring cars up to the high school parking lot for more test drives. Same rules apply, must be 18 to test drive, 17 and under need to encourage parents to come up and test drive for you. Let’s meet our goal! Bauder

NUTRITION FACT FOR TODAY: How can you tell if a chile pepper is spicy? It does not depend on the color of the pepper at all. Usually, the smaller the pepper, the hotter it is. The hottest pepper in the world is the Habanero. Hughes
