RHS Student Announcements

RIVERTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS WED., 12/19/07

ACTIVITIES:
Thursday – Wrestling @ Cody, JV/V, 5/6pm

STUDENTS: As we near the end of the semester, we encourage all patrons with overdues to return the overdue materials to the library as soon as possible. Morrison

CULINARY CLASS will be having a restaurant at the Elk’s Lodge on Thursday. We will be serving an early Christmas dinner; prices will be $9/person or $30/group of four. Times will be between 5-9pm. For more information contact a culinary arts student or Mrs. Rivers @ 851-9452. Rivers

STUDENTS: We will be offering a class next semester designed to give students the training and background necessary to work in the energy industry. This class will be offered zero hour from 7:00-7:55 am, Monday through Thursday here at Riverton High School. It will cover rig safety, exploration, production, environmental impact and information regarding all of the careers available within the energy industry. Students who successfully complete the program will be granted ½ credit toward graduation. If you are interested, stop by the guidance office to sign up or to receive more information. Flanagan

NEW STUDENTS taking CAREER INTERNSHIP and/or WORK EXPERIENCE next semester need to be in Mrs. Santee's room for a short, but mandatory, meeting today after school. Santee

SENIORS COMPLETING PORTFOLIOS INDEPENDENTLY: Portfolios are due by Friday. No exceptions! Santee

ATTENTION ALL DECA MEMBERS: If you have not yet paid your dues you must do so before Christmas break or you will not be eligible to participate at state in February. Get $20.00 to Mr. Stoehr ASAP. Stoehr

NEW NHS MEMBERS that have not yet returned their "H" need to do so before Christmas break. Bring them to Ms. Kirkland or Mr. Stoehr. Stoehr

ACT: Students, if you have not yet taken advantage of the FREE ACT offered by CWC-BOCHES, and would like to register for the February, 2008 test, remember that the deadline to submit the paper registration packet is this THURSDAY. Bring your application to the Guidance Office. Guidance
PRACTICE for speech and debate team is in Room 114 and 130 at lunch every day. Please come and work on your events. Thornton

GET INVOLVED – get into the spirit of the season! Donate new and gently used books and stuffed animals to the Media Center Book Drive. Your name will go in the box for free weekly drawings, and then your club will be entered in the sled race to win a pizza party or cash award. Please bring in your donates thru Thursday. Tis the season for giving…make some child extra happy this year. Media Center

THE BROWN BAG LUNCH for today has been cancelled due to several of our panelists being ill and one having to work. We will reschedule it for another date/time. Sorry for the late notice. RHS Health Committee

KEY CLUB reminder, the Christmas Party will be at Mrs. Hughes' house on Thursday at 7 PM. Remember to bring your wrapped white elephant and some Christmas goodies. If you need directions, check outside of Mrs. Hughes' door in the Career Center. Hughes

ALL STUDENTS enrolled in Drivers Ed 2nd semester should try and get their permit or license over Christmas break. Thanks. Brown

STUDENTS: would you like to participate in a Staff Trivia Contest? If so, pick up the sheet at the front desk at the high school or Career Center and see if you can win a prize. Contest sheets are due at the front desk by noon on Friday. The person or persons with the most correct answers win. You must have the staff members’ signature for each question. Hughes
