ACTIVITIES:


SKILLS USA meeting today at 7pm in Mr. Gopp’s room at the Career Center. Also, SKILLS USA will be having a BBQ this Thursday during lunch for those that are interested in learning about this club. SKILLS USA is open to any student enrolled in a vocational class at RHS. Gopp

CWC UPWARD BOUND students meet Wednesday during lunch in room 4 at the Career Center. Nirider

FFA will have a meeting today at 7pm in the Ag room at the Career Center. Styvar

NHS MEMBERS: please make plans to attend this year's induction ceremony on Thursday at 7:00pm in the Career Center. If you cannot attend please inform Mrs. Kirkland ASAP. Stoehr

HEY RHS, do you have broken or unused cell phones cluttering up your space? If so, let the environmental club help you recycle those old cell phones and you can earn a chance to win a free tardy pass! Just turn in your old cell phone to Ms. Miller’s room and get a raffle ticket. The more cell phones you turn in the more chances you get to win the prize. We will have a grand prize drawing before the end of the semester for a $50 I-tunes card. Look for our posters around school for more details. Miller

FCCLA MEMBERS and anyone interested in joining FCCLA; there will be a short meeting right after school today. If you have not joined yet please come. Rivers

CLOSE UP STUDENTS please start turning in your raffle money and ticket stubs at any time to Mr. Chouinard. We need to meet today at lunch to see where we are on the raffle and finalize who is going this year, get your registered, set up a parent meeting, and choose our week of participation. This is a required meeting so clear your schedule. No excuses! Chouinard

SENIORS: the Elks National and Local Scholarship application is in guidance. They are due back to guidance by January 9. This is an early deadline, so please take advantage of this opportunity as thousands of dollars are awarded. Late applications cannot be accepted. Chouinard

THE FIRST KEY CLUB BLOOD DRIVE of the year is coming soon. It will take place at the Career Center on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 2 to 7 PM. You can sign up at the Guidance Office. You must be at least 17 to give, but must have parent permission. Pick up a form when you sign up and bring it with you on Nov. 12. If you are 18 or over, no permission is necessary. All you need to do is sign up. Please include your phone number so you can be given a reminder call the night prior. Everyone needs to bring an ID with them the day of the draw. Please be sure you drink lots of water that day. Also, when you sign up, please read through the criteria for eligibility which is taped to the counter top. There are limitations from some foreign travel, tattoos and risk behaviors. Be sure to check those out. If you have questions, call Mrs. Hughes at Ext. 4007. Hughes

TODAY’S TIDBIT: Salt was extremely rare in the past. It was so rare that it was often used as pay. Imagine earning a couple of tablespoons of salt for a hard day’s work.
