RIVERTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS WED., 11/7/07

CAREER INTERNSHIP assignments are due today. WORK EXPERIENCE job description assignment and wage and hour report form is due today. Santee

SENIORS working INDEPENDENTLY on your portfolios: The next round of interviews is scheduled for Friday, from 2:45-3:45. Please see Mrs. Santee to schedule your interview. You must have your application, cover letter, and resume completed prior to your interview. Remember portfolios are due Dec. 21! Santee

DECA meeting Thursday at lunch. We will be discussing fall activities and state projects. ALL members please attend! Bring your own lunch. Stoehr

ALL VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS need to have all of their equipment turned into Coach Weber or Coach McNamee by Friday to avoid being put on the fines list! Thanks. Weber

CLOSE UP STUDENTS: all raffle money and ticket stubs need to be turned in to Mr. Chouinard by Friday. Chouinard

CWC UPWARD BOUND students need to meet today at lunch in room 4 at the Career Center. Nirider

GIRLS BASKETBALL MEETING on Thursday after school in room 516. We will hand out practice jerseys, handbooks, and practice schedules. Bring your physical if you do not already have one on file. This is a mandatory meeting. Miller

SENIORS: The admissions representative from LCCC (Laramie County Community College) will be available at Guidance this Friday from 12:30 to 1:30. Please stop by for information on admissions, scholarships, campus visits, etc. Guidance

SKILLS USA MEETING Thursday at 12:10 in Mr. Gopp’s room at the Career Center. Gopp

SPEECH AND DEBATE PRACTICE will be held all this week at lunch in Room 130, Mrs. Campbell's room. Bring a lunch and come work on your material for this week's meet in Green River. Thornton

9TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL meeting today during lunch in Mr. Shultz’s room, 517. McIntosh

WALKERS - Remember to turn your steps into Room 106 each Monday. We will have the totals posted later this week so you can see how your team is doing. A realistic goal is 10,000 steps per day. Hughes

WRESTLERS: parent meeting will be Friday at 6:00 PM in the Career Center. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory. If you cannot attend you need to see Coach Parry before the meeting. Wrestling will begin next Monday at 4:00 sharp in the TAC. Parry

JV/V BOYS BASKETBALL meeting today at 3:35 in the RHS Commons. If you plan on going out for basketball please plan on attending. Barlow

SOPHOMORES: Any student interested in attending the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Conference this spring needs to see Mr. Irvine in the Guidance Office. Irvine

BROWN BAG LUNCH: November's version of the brown bag lunch will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Media Center during lunch. This month's topic is "Energy Drinks - Are they good, bad or maybe even dangerous?" The presenter will be Judy Barbe who is a dietician as well as the Wyoming representative for the Western Dairy Council and writes a regular column for the Casper Star Tribune. Be sure to sign up at the front desk or in the Health classroom so that you can be in on the count for a free lunch. Hughes

KEY CLUB - This is your last chance to pay your dues and get a shirt. If Mrs. Hughes does not have your money and your size by Monday AM you will not get a shirt. Hughes

ALL PEER LEADERS start mentoring today at Rendezvous school. Check the schedule on Ms. Reddon’s door and pick up the curriculum for the grade you are working with in Ms. Reddon’s office. Reddon

You need to create a blog about changing the school environment. I know the school wants to change the overall learning atmosphere of the school. So why not open a blog to get input.

Thanks for posting. That is what this site will be. However, with all of the events happening at RHS it is important that an avenue of discussion on a variety of topics be available. This blog will be used for all things pertaining to RHS. So stay posted for topics and thanks for responding. In It's second day of being online it has had over 150 hits so hopefully this will be a viable means for gathering input. In order to gather the input we need to build the readership to accurately gather input from the diverse community we serve. Therefore, this blog needs to be appealing on many levels to gain the readership. But that is a goal we have, to gather input.
